Children grow and mature to adults gradually; coaches and parents in the club work together to safeguard and provide a beneficial environment for all players.

To keep the cost of playing hockey to a minimum we offer the following options:

  • Junior membership is available for children up to 17 year of age in two categories: Juniors up to 4th Class and Juniors from 5th Class.
  • Juniors aged 15-17 who take part in senior training and/or matches must take up Student U18 membership (minimum age at the time of joining 15).

What this means:

1. 5th or 6th Year secondary school students must join as U18 student members. They will take part in senior club hockey; they might take part in under age provincial or national squads when selected.

2. 4th Year secondary school students who are 15 year old when joining and taking part in senior as well as junior hockey should take up U18 Student membership.

3. Players younger than 15 at the time of joining, who might be able to take part in senior hockey during the season may join with a Juniors from 5th Class membership.

N.B. Juniors may take part in senior hockey as part of their development, provided they are 15 and both parents and coaches agree about the level and the timing of the transition. Practising and playing with their peers is essential for and should be given priority in the development of young players.
